Cody John Kephart

Kephart, Cody, 24 of Portage passed away surrounded by friends and family following a tragic accident on June 6, 2019. Born April 6, 1995 in Johnstown. The son of David A. Sr. and Elise (Zaman) Kephart. Deceased family members include his brother, David A. Kephart, Jr., paternal grandmother Mary (Vaughn) Kephart and maternal grandmother Judy (Moore) Zaman. He is survived by his parents, fiancé Alexa and dog Chole. and brother Caleb (Vanessa) Kephart. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather Rev. Charles Kephart and maternal grandparents Leslie (Mary Lou) Zaman. He will be sadly missed by his loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Cody was an extremely wonderful nurse and saved many lives even after he passed. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, chap stick, sharing a cigar and anything fun. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Cody had a beautiful smile and heart. He was quick with a joke or to give you the shirt off his back. He would be the first to help no matter what the situation was. He was a wonderful brother to Caleb and was our everything. Not only was he our son, he was our best friend. He loved making sushi and having sushi dates with Alexa. He loved taking vacations and traveling with Alexa and looked forward to their wedding in August. He was respected by his colleagues and was known as the best IV starter in 8 Ashman. He was always the first to lend a hand and his patients admired him for his compassion, bright smile and his willingness to always put his patient first. He loved predator hunting and fishing for striper with Caleb and his dad at Raystown. Spending Saturday afternoons on his side by side was one of his favorites. So long my friends, until we meet again. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Monday  at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage.  Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., , Tuesday at Martindale Alliance Church, Blue Knob. Committal will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
