Sabala, Anthony "Tony", 90, Jamestown, Portage Twp. Passed away August 19, 2019 at home., with his loving family by his side. Born June 13, 1929 in Portage, the son of Charles and Ann (Gabriel) Cabala. Deceased family members include brothers, John, Joseph, Steve, Carl, and Frank; sisters, Ann Bonodona, Mary Weigl, Victoria Kumbrow, Roseann Lewandowski, and Helen Wroblicky. Survived by loving wife of 53 years Esther (Zock) Sabala; children, Dennis Girard, Dominic Girard, Dina (Dave) White; Vanessa (Darryl) Hunt; and Valerie (Pete) Pcola; grandchildren, Kayla (Abhy) Singla; Jessica (Brian) Brunnet; Michael Pcola and girlfriend Leanna Fordick; and greatgranddaughter, Aubrey Brunnet. Also survived by brother Edward Sabala and sister-in-law Marilyn Cabala and numerous nieces and nephews. 1947 graduate of Portage High School. US Army Veteran. Retired Machinist from the Dravo Corporation. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Gardening, playing button box and harmonica and listening to polka music. Life member of The Jamestown Rod and Gun Club. Founding member and past president of the Stump Club. Friends received from 4-8 pm, Wednesday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday at Holy Family Parish, Caldwell Ave, Portage. Monsignor John R. Sasway, celebrant. Committal will be in Saint Marys Cemetery, Portage.
