Ann E. (Sekerak) Malchesky

Ann E. Malchesky, (Sekerak), 96, of Ohio passed away Sunday March 17, 2019 at the Abbewood in  Elyria, Ohio. She was born October 22, 1922 in Ebensburg, PA. and was an Elyria resident since 1950, coming from Gallitzin, PA. Ann retired from the Moen Corporation in Elyria, where she worked as an assembler for 17 years. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she volunteered for various ministries. She was also a member of the Elyria Moose Lodge 778, and the V.F.W. Post 1079 Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed exercising with the Elyria parks and recreation department and dancing. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew in 1970, sisters, Mary Arndt, Helen Futey, and Sue Squashic and brothers, Steve, John, Joe, George, Mike and Andy Sekerak. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday March 22, 2019 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. (please meet at church) Elyria. The Rev, Fr. Albert Veigas will be the Celebrant.  Friends will also be received Monday March 25, 2019 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Fr. Thomas Stabile, TOR, officiating. Committal in Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria.
