Andrew C. Merva

Merva, Andrew C., 84, of Portage passed away May 3, 2018 at Maple Winds Care Center. Born November 14, 1933 in Cassandra, the son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Benjack) Merva. Deceased family members include his parents, wife, Julia (Krawick) Merva; three brothers, Leo, Wilburt, Dennis and half brother Richard Jadick; and step daughter, Deborah Kuisick. Survived by his son, David Merva and wife Beverly.  Also survived by step children, Janet wife of Bill Fetsko and Linda Kuisick. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Bill (Crystal) Fetsko, Lisa (Mark) Oshaben, Aimee (Troy) Donahue, Keith (Tara) Kuisick, Crystal Flenner and Lisa Flenner; great grandchildren, Connor, Emma, Kelly, Zach, Brittany, Brooke, and Nicole; and great great grandchildren, Maxxilynne, Kinley, and Khayman. Formerly employed at Portage Cleaners and was a self employed home delivery service dry cleaner. Formerly the top salesman for Charles Chips. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the lottery. Friends received from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Serenko-Claar Funeral Home, PC, Portage where Parastas will be sung at 7 p.m. and where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Father James A. Spontak, officiating. Committal will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
